About Us
As a proud member of the Newport Elementary community, I’ve seen firsthand why this school is known as “The Best on the Beach.” Newport El goes beyond academics—it's a nurturing, student-centered environment where children are supported not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well. From the moment you walk on campus, it's clear that this school is dedicated to helping every child reach their full potential.
What makes Newport Elementary truly special is the collaboration between its passionate staff and involved families. Teachers work tirelessly to create engaging learning experiences and offer consistent support, no matter where a student is in their learning journey. Whether a child needs enrichment or additional help, programs like the Impact learning rotations in math and language arts ensure that every student gets what they need to grow.
The school’s use of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) creates a respectful and supportive atmosphere where students are taught the values and skills they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. Teachers don’t just teach content—they model and reinforce the behaviors that help students become responsible, caring, life-long learners.

About Me
I am truly honored to be part of this wonderful school community. My husband and I live in Huntington Beach with our two daughters. My journey in education was inspired by my grandmother, who was also my first teacher and a powerful influence in my life. I began my career teaching elementary school before transitioning into administration at the middle school level. Most recently, I served as the principal of Dwyer Middle School in Huntington Beach for eight years. I earned my Bachelor's, Master's, and teaching credential from Cal State Fullerton, and later completed my Doctorate at the University of Southern California. Working with students and families is my true passion, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve and grow with this community.
